Thierry looking forward to DTM at Zandvoort: 'We can be strong there'

Published on 05 June 2025 by Niels Hendrix

For the third year in succession, Thierry Vermeulen competes in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), one of the world’s most prestigious touring car championships, consisting of ten rounds. The 22-year-old ambitious Dutch racing driver continues racing in a Ferrari 296 GT3, run by the Swiss Emil Frey Racing team, under the support of Verstappen.com Racing.

This weekend the third round will be held at Circuit Zandvoort in The Netherlands. Thierry said: “I am looking forward to my home DTM race. Coming to Zandvoort is always special and with DTM it’s extra special. We have had the GT World Challenge race there and so have picked up some good experience and knowledge for the car and myself, so I’m feeling quite positive heading into this race weekend. We know that the Ferrari can be strong at Zandvoort, so we aim to have a clean weekend and hopefully get to the podium and score some good points.”

Thierry added: “The car has had very good potential so far this year. We showed at the Lausitzring that we can be at the front, so yes, we have to continue that momentum. I am also looking forward to seeing all the Dutch fans, so feel free to come and have a look at the car and experience DTM up close. It will be an exciting weekend with lots of overtaking and hopefully a good result for us!”
