Max aims to obtain DMSB Permit Nordschleife: 'Love to race here in a GT3-car'

Max Verstappen is never not racing. The Dutch four-time Formula 1 world champion has, of course, a busy agenda being a professional F1 racing driver. But it’s a well-known fact that the 27-year-old is very passionate about racing in general and wants to participate in endurance races at iconic racetracks around the world.
So far, he has been doing so virtually, via Team Redline, the leading team in the sim racing world. As an ambassador of Team Redline, Max is closely involved and participates in sim races regularly. He especially appreciates world-famous circuits such as the Nürburgring Nordschleife, still seen as one of the toughest racetracks in the world and with its 22 kilometres, it’s either loved or feared, but mostly both and referred to as the “Green Hell”.
After testing in a Ferrari 296 GT3 with the Swiss Emil Frey Racing team at the Nordschleife back in May, under the pseudonym Franz Hermann, Max now proceeds with the next step. To be allowed to race at the Nordschleife in a GT3-car, the fastest category that races on this track, every participant needs a special racing license: a DMSB (Deutscher Motor Sport Bund) Permit Nordschleife.
“Racing is not just my profession, but also my hobby”, says Max. “This weekend I am at the Nordschleife with the goal to qualify for the mandatory race permit needed to race here in a GT3 car, which I would love. The Nordschleife is at the top of my list of tracks I want to race on, as it’s extremely challenging and demanding, with its enormous length and tight historic layout. I can’t wait!”
This one-off appearance in a Porsche GT4 Cayman in the well-known Verstappen.com Racing x Red Bull livery will be during the NLS7 with a 4-hour race on Saturday 13 September. Max will be joined by Chris Lulham, the 22-year-old British racing driver, who is competing in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance and Sprint Cup for Verstappen.com Racing.
