Max Verstappen named Driver of the Day in Abu Dhabi season finale

Max Verstappen was named ‘Driver of the Day’ for the eighth time this season following the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Despite winning his eighth Grand Prix of the season in dominant fashion, Max had to hand the championship to Lando Norris.

Starting from pole position, Verstappen immediately took the lead at the start. After a race with just one pit stop, the Oracle Red Bull Racing driver crossed the finish line twelve seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri to secure victory, marking his eighth Grand Prix win of the season.

In the end, Verstappen fell two points short of the championship. With a third-place finish, Lando Norris became Formula 1 World Champion for the first time.
