Jos Verstappen finished the first day of the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rallye in fourth place. Together with co-driver Renaud Jamoul, the Dutchman has entered this round of the DRM (Deutsche Rallye Meisterschaft) in their Skoda Fabia RS Rally 2 car.

The rally features six stages, each contested twice. The Friday features four timed sections, with the remaining eight scheduled for Saturday, the second and final day of the event.

Jos and Renaud open the rally with two fourth places on the first two stages Zauberwald (9.14 km) and Windpark (18.3 km).

Halfway during the day, the duo trails pace setter Marijan Griebel by 24 seconds. The German has set the fastest time on both stages and continues his blistering form by also winning the final two stages of the day, again contesting Zauberwald and Windpark.

Jos finishes his Friday with a third and fourth place, leaving him fourth in the overall standings, with just over half a minute to make up on leader Griebel.
