Jos second in Rallye International du Valais

Jos Verstappen and navigator Renaud Jamoul have finished the Rallye International du Valais in second place. The duo contested the Swiss event in a Citroën C3 Rally2 car, prepared by Sarrazin Motorsport. After completing the thirteen timed stages, Jos and Renaud were only 21.5 seconds off overall winner Jonathan Hirschi.
On Friday, Jos and Renaud enjoyed a good start to the rally by ending the day in second place after the first seven stages, trailing Hirschi by 14 seconds.
The Saturday featured a further six timed sections across three stages; Les Cols (29.22km), Val de Bagnes (8.88km) and Pays du St.-Bernard (9.80km). All three were contested twice.
On the first running of the three stages, Jos and Renaud finished third, followed by two second places. On the final outing, the pair managed P2, P3 and P2, meaning Jos comfortably held on to second place. Nevertheless, he was unable to usurp Hirschi who won the event leading througout.
