Thierry and Chris champions GTWC Sprint Gold Cup: 'We had one goal'

Published on 21 September 2025 by Niels Hendrix

Thierry Vermeulen and Chris Lulham are the champions of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup (GTWC Sprint) in the Gold Cup. The driver pair in the Verstappen.com Racing branded Ferrari 296 GT3, run by Emil Frey Racing, secured the championship in Valencia.

Thierry said: “We had only one goal this morning when we came to the track. Throughout the day we managed that very well. We had a clean but a bit of a boring race. Chris had a clean start, which helped a lot and we were able to secure the win in the Gold class and the championship. It has been a difficult year with definitely some nice highlights. A big thanks to the whole team of Emil Frey Racing and Verstappen.com Racing for supporting us."

Chris added: “I could not have predicted us winning the championship at the beginning of the year. I am super happy! We came here today with one goal and we have achieved that. I can only thank Emil Frey Racing and Verstappen.com Racing for their support throughout the season.”
