McLaren fastest again...

Ferrari did not succeed to top the first free practice list. Although the circus is driving on Italian ground, it was Mika Häkkinen again, fastest in 1:28.467 followed by David Coulthard, Eddie Irvine, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Jean Alesi and surprising fast, Jacques Villeneuve.

The track appeared to be very slippery. Lots of drivers spinned like Marc Gene, Giancarlo Fisichella, Jarno Trulli, Jean Alesi, Pedro Diniz, Toranosuke Takagi and Damon Hill.
