Jos delivers excellent work

Jos placed himself 13th on the grid in the qualifying session for the Canadian Grand Prix. Pole position is for Michael Schumacher, followed by his brother Ralf and David Coulthard.
It was a hectic session in which the chicane at the beginning or the straight played an important role. First Mika Hakkinen went over the kerbstones at high speed and damaged his car so he had to change to the T-car. Rubens Barrichello copied Mika's action, but managed to write off his Ferrari. Luckily he was unhurt. Nick Heidfeld hit the wall (at that particular chicane) the hardest, bounced back onto the track and halted at the other side of the track, he also was unhurt.
Jos managed to keep his time between 10th and 15th position, which in the end turned out to be 13th. He placed himself well in front of Enrique who ended up on 17th. It is Jos's best qualification of this season and was quite pleased with it: "I gave it all I could. The car felt well throughout the day, this makes me feel good. The team is satisfied with the result. We are near the top ten and with a good start anything can happen." When we asked him if the team would choose to go for a two stop strategy he replied: "we don't know yet. We could manage 1 stop but the analysis of the data will show what is best. The circuit is particularly hard on the brakes and overtaking is reasonably easy. This would mean a two stop strategy would be best. On the other hand, if we make a good start and we are able to defend our position then a one stop strategy would be the right choice. Hard to choose though."
