Max ends first Spa qualifying in second
Published on 20 June 2014 by Stefan Meens
After putting in encouraging lap times in the two free practice sessions, Max Verstappen went on to secure P2 ahead of the first race of the fifth Euro F3 round. The Van Amersfoort Racing driver was persistently among the fastest drivers but missed out on pole position by a mere 0.061s as Esteban Ocon clinched P1.
Max is visibly dissappointed. “It’s a shame my rivals drove in a group. This meant they gained time by slip streaming as I decided to drive my flying laps on my own. But perhaps it’s better that I qualified in second as I can try to slipstream past the driver in front of me on the back straight.”
