First pictures of Max in the Scuderia Toro Rosso STR9

After completing a lap of the Suzuka circuit on Wednesday during his first F1 track walk, Max Verstappen was supposed to go on another walk on Thursday. Unfortunately, the rain prevented Max from another trip around the famous Japanese course.

Regardless, Max and the team had plenty of things to do. Apart from completing several obligatory FIA checks, such as getting out of the car and putting back the steering wheel in a certain amount of time, the Red Bull Junior worked together with the mechanics to tailor the car to his needs.

Despite retiring from racing, father Jos kept himself busy around the Toro Rosso pits in his newfound role as ‘special pitlane reporter/photographer’ for Verstappen.nl. Check out the exclusive first pictures of Max (and his new helmet) in the STR9 and the F1 paddock in this album.
