Jos, congratulations on your birthday!

Jos Verstappen has not only put motorsport on the map in the Netherlands, but Holland's most successful Formula 1-driver ever, has also stood beside the cradle of Max. The latter about to make his F1-debut and having the chance to drive his father out of the record books.

Jos made his debut in 1994 at Benetton while Max is due a week and a half from now, in Melbourne for the Scuderia Toro Rosso team, for his first Grand Prix. Better prepared than his father was. “But I am not jealous of that. I wish only the best for my son and hopefully he will be successful. I can only be very proud of Max”, says Jos, who spoke to Verstappen.nl in Barcelona, about then and now. That interview will be featured shortly.

Today, it is 43 years ago that Jos was born. Jos celebrates this with his inner circle, as Max is about to take his next flight. But before he flies out, he has some kind words for his father: “Happy birthday to the best dad in the world! You helped me so much to become who I am right now!"
