Mercedes immaculate again on Wednesday morning

As usual, it was Mercedes that was setting the tone. In Barcelona, where all the F 1-teams are busy testing, it wasn’t any different in the morning, on the second test day. This time, Pascal Wehrlein’s name, test driver for the German team, is at the top of the leader board. The 20-year old driver drove 73 laps and noted a 1:26.641 as the fastest track time.
Best of the rest is Jolyon Palmer in the Lotus: he was able to stay ahead of Jenson Button’s McLaren. Esteban Gutierrez ended up fourth for Ferrari in the morning session. Carlos Sainz continued his work for Scuderia Toro Rosso doing aerodynamics tests and finished fifth.
Esteban Ocon, having driven 45 laps in the Force India, was seventh. Raffaele Marciello, who slid off track in turn three and ended up in the tyre wall, lapped the track only eight times. However, Sauber was able to repair the front suspension of the C34 just before lunchbreak.
With Palmer, Alex Lynn, Ocon and Sainz, there were some nice names today on the leader board. They are namely the current Champions in GP2, GP3, European Formula 3-championship and World Series by Renault.
