Max and Jos both drive Formula 1 cars at Italia a Zandvoort

On Sunday 28 Juni, Max Verstappen will drive his first Formula 1 demonstration on a Dutch racing track. Father Jos Verstappen is not just going to sit back and watch his son put on a spectacular show. Instead, he will join him on track, driving a Minardi F1 car. It will not be the only racer build in Faenza to grace the Zandvoort circuit; Frits van Eerd takes to the track in his Minardi.

Jos Verstappen thoroughly enjoyed last year's demonstration at Italia a Zandvoort when he also drove a Minardi. For the event's 2015 edition, Jos awaits a familiar 'office' for the day: the Minardi PS03-Cosworth, the car in which he drove his last Formula 1 season (2003).

Italia a Zandvoort will be Max' first time driving an F1 car on a Dutch circuit. And what a track to do so, returning to the place where he won last year's Masters of Formula 3, emulating his father's victory from 1993.

Jos Verstappen is looking forward to this special event: “28 June is going to be a unique day as both Max and I will drive a Formula 1 car. I'll drive a slightly older car, the Minardi PS03 in which I drove my final Formula 1-season. I'm going to make sure the crowd is going to have a fantastic day. Of course it's going to be an extraordinary day for me too. It's special to experience Italia a Zandvoort in such an amazing way, together with my son.”

It is not just Jos and Max that will hit the Zandvoort track. The Verstappens are joined by Frits van Eerd in his Minardi PS01, a car dating back to 2001. In addition, the event organisers expect to announce more 'loud' news.

Besides all the spectacular demonstrations, Italia a Zandvoort will provide its usual varied program including the attendance of various Italian cars brands owner's clubs – displaying and demonstrating many beautiful cars – and a wide variety of Italian cuisine and lifestyle products. In addition, there will be several ‘meet & greets’ with Max and Jos Verstappen as well as the opportunity to purchase official Max Verstappen and Scuderia Toro Rosso merchandise at the track.
