This morning at Imola (Italy) the morning session of the Friday free practice took place. Jos ended the session in 16th position, 0,2 seconds in front of his teammate Mika Salo, who ended in 17th position. Michael Schumacher was fastest, with Panis being second at 0,7 seconds. Herbert ended the session in 3th place, with behind him the two McLaren's, Coulthard (4th) and Hakkinen (5th). The first Williams was Frentzen (6th) and Villeneuve was 10th (?!). Fisichella had some problems and therefore ended in last position. After 4 laps Schumacher set a time that was 0,4 seconds faster than last year's pole. No further remarks.
