Max previews Baku: "I want more, I want to win!"

Ahead of the Azerbeidjan Grand Prix, Max Verstappen previewed the race weekend on the streets of Baku. It is only the second time a Grand Prix takes place on this particular track, that features a very long straight.
“Every circuit that suits our car is a track I love”, jokes Max. “If we had the fastest engine, it would have been even better! But seriously, the long straight does help with overtaking; it means there is more action.”
With Baku track being a street circuit, setting up the car can be tricky. “You want to go faster in the slower corners, but that means you lose speed on the straights.”
Despite a few DNFs for Max this year, his Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner praised the Dutchman for ‘his best season ever’. The youngster agrees. “Despite racing at my best, I’m racing for fifth. But I want more, I want to win and that’s not happening at the moment. Generally speaking, not much has gone wrong this season. If I look at my own performance, I’ve progressed which is positive. But that’s to be expected as I’m constantly learning and gaining experience.”
Regarding the progress made on the car front, Max is clear: “We’re making the most of what we have. After last year, we expected to have made a step forward. Now, we have to work towards achieving that. The car has definitely improved this year, but we have to keep progressing, on both the car and engine front.”
