Max Verstappen present at Exact Live: 'We want to win'

Max Verstappen paid a visit today to Exact Live, the largest one-day business event in the Netherlands. The Jaarbeurs Utrecht was once again this year the focus of everything that has to do with numbers that people on a daily basis have to deal with. The Aston Martin Red Bull Racing-driver attended a few presentations as well, including a session with Ali B. During the Grand Finale, Club 33 with Humberto Tan being the host, Max and DJ’s Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano combined on boards from Max together to form a real music track.
Last Monday Max turned 22. Of course that was also given a great deal of attention. Regarding whether he is starting to notice that he is getting older and if he has celebrated his birthday, Max wittingly replies: ‘Till my 33rd birthday everthing will be ok. On the return flight with Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg also on the plane, we celebrated it a bit. On the day itself, apart from some simracing, I kinda chilled a bit.”
Verstappen talks about his collaboration with his sponsor Exact: “Software is very important for us in Formula 1. Of course this is something completely different, but I think that the combination and cooperation we have is very positive. We both want to win, grow and eventually become the biggest. The objectives are the same.”
The overall theme at Exact Live this year was ‘Home to all number heroes’. The origin of 33, the number on Max’ RB15, is then explained: “From a small child growing up, three has always been my favourite number. I used to stick it on to everything, my kart as well. The day after, I would tear it off and replace it with another three but then in a different shape. It was just my favourite number. I always tried to get hold of it, but you don’t always have the liberty of being able to choose everytime. In Formula 1, Daniel Ricciardo was already using the number three, so that was not an option anymore for me. So then I thought to myself, I’ll another three. Hopefully I’ll be twice as lucky.”
