Today Jordan announced a two-year engine deal with Mugen-Honda. The Japanese company will supply Jordan at least for 1998 and 1999. The deal, much talked about the last few weeks, comes as no surprise and will propably lead to a swap with Prost who will most likely have Peugeot as engine-supplier.

The deal has a side-effect on Arrows, which also had been hoping to secure a deal with Mugen-Honda. Damon Hill's position at Arrows will be undermined by Honda's decision.

Gerhard Berger will be missing his third Grand Prix in a row as he still hasn't recovered completely after he underwent his second surgery for a sinus infection two weeks ago. He will again be replaced by countryman Alexander Wurz. Berger now hopes to be back in time for a test session in Monza on July 15.
