Third free practice in Sochi cancelled due to severe downpour

The third and final free practice for the Russian Grand Prix has been cancelled. Due to heavy rain, which has been tormenting the Sochi Autodrom the entire day, Race Control has announced, even before the actual starting time, that the session will not take place.

It seems that it will be raining the entire day, but for the time being no decision has been made yet whether qualifying, scheduled to start at 14.00 hrs local Dutch time, will even get underway. In any case, Max Verstappen will start the Russian Grand Prix from the back of the field as a new Honda-power train was installed in his car on Friday.
