Some latest rumours: Tom Walkinshaw is very eager to get Jos to sign a contract with Arrows for '97. He even threatened to replace him for the rest of the season if Jos won't sign a contract right now. According to us this trick of uncle Tom won't work because the sponsoring of Philips Car Systems depends on the participation of Jos with Arrows. In the meanwhile other teams (Benetton, Jordan, McLaren as mentioned earlier) are very interested in Jos. Huub Rothengatter, Jos' manager, asks 5 million dollars for Jos.
There seems to be some disagreement in the Arrows team about whether or not the team can afford to test. Jos en Tom Walkinshaw want to test while Jackie Oliver says there is no money. This could well be an explanation for the mentioning and cancellation of several Arrows tests.
