Jos second after first day at Omloop van Vlaanderen Rally

Jos Verstappen and navgiator Renaud Jamoul are contesting the Omloop van Vlaanderen rally, which is part of the Belgian Rally Championship (BRC). During the Friday evening leg of the event that comprises of 20 stages across two days, the 51-year-old finished second in his Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. 

The rally centres around Roeselare, with the first five timed sections spread across three stages scheduled for Friday evening. Jos and Jamoul enjoy a solid start to the event with a fifth place on the opening section, followed by two second places. 

Jos ended the first day on a high with two fastest times on SS4 and SS5, meaning the Dutchman sits in second place overall, three seconds behind leader Niels Reynvoet. 

Saturday, the second and final day of the event, features fifteen stages.
