Verstappen.com Racing is represented in the DTM by Thierry Vermeulen, who drives a Ferrari 296 GT3 of Emil Frey Racing. The 21-year-old Dutchman made his appearance last weekend during the eight round of the DTM championship, at the Hockenheimring in Germany.
Thierry reflects: “We completed the DTM season last weekend in Hockenheim with a P11 on Saturday and a strong qualifying on Sunday morning, but followed by a disappointing race. It's a pity to end the season like this, but overall we look back at a good first year in DTM with tough competition. It was a big challenge, but we knew going into this that the level was high and this in turn pushed me to get better and more competitive.”
“Big thanks to Emil Frey for giving me the opportunity this year to race in DTM and GT World Challenge. It was an incredible experience, for sure I wish some things I had done better but we made good progress throughout the year. Having several top 10’s, good results and a best finish of P5 in DTM. In the GT World Challenge we finished overall in P4 and achieved four podiums. Of course I wish I had gotten a podium in DTM but I'll keep working hard in the future!”
“Also thank you to my family for making this possible, all my partners, Verstappen.com who have been a huge support this season. I really enjoyed it, it’s been a beautiful journey this year. Having this many weekends in one season, so many races by myself in the car, really pushed myself to the next level. I think I have made a lot of improvement.”
“I am excited to go into winter and take time to analyse everything and see which things I have to work on and can improve. We have some days in the car planned already for this year so we can prepare fully for next year with lots of testing in the upcoming months.”
