If it is in the hands of teammanager Craig Pollock formula 1 will have another Brazilian next season. Ricardo Zonta, who won yesterday with Klaus Ludwig the GT championship, could be the second driver BAR driver alongside Jacques Villeneuve. Zonta himself hopes that he can announce the news next weekend during the Japanese Grand Prix.

An extractable safety seat will be presented next Friday by the FIA in co-operation with Stewart at the Japanese Grand Prix, in preparation to the 1999 season. The feature of this seat is the possibility to lift the driver out of the car in his chair. This new type of this removable seat will be mandatory from January next year.
