Rubens Barrichello was during the second test session this week the fastest driver of the day. With his Stewart he set a time of 1.26.39. With this result, it becomes clear that the Stewart team made a major progress in their preparation for the Japanese Grand Prix. With 1.26.94, Jacques Villeneuve set with his Williams the second time of the day with Damon Hill as third fastest with a laptime of 1.27.10.
