Max from Silverstone: 'Most important is that I am okay with Lando'

After a sensational weekend in Austria, Max Verstappen spoke to the international media at Silverstone on Thursday, ahead of the British Grand Prix. The three-time Formula 1 world champion shared his thoughts before the final race of this triple header: “The comments from the media after the race in Austria, of course, don't matter to me at all. The most important thing is that I'm okay with Lando, and we are. We contacted each other on Monday morning, which is quite normal because on Sunday you have the emotions right after the race. I was disappointed with the result because I had hoped for more. And Lando was, of course, also disappointed. So, we talked on Monday, and everything was cleared up fairly quickly.”

When asked what was actually discussed, Max stated: "That we generally enjoyed the race, and that the contact we had was minimal, which we regretted. But in the end, we also told each other that we shouldn't suddenly look differently at each other when racing. Look, I race hard, and I defend hard, and I think that's how it should be, and Lando did the same, and I completely agree with that."

Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend at Silverstone, Max said: "It will be a battle between quite a few teams again, and we have to see if the weather will play a role, but overall it will be dry. I always enjoy driving here, there are many high-speed corners and quite a lot of grip on the circuit."
